Masquerade Del Diablos 2013: The Clockwork Forest

Masquerade del Diablos is a traditional medieval-fantasy masquerade ball geared towards gamers of almost any subculture or genre. This free-form roleplaying event is an opportunity for LARPers, table-toppers and any other form of role-player to get together for a night free from the restraints of game mechanics & lore, and work their craft. Please join us on April 20th, 2013 as we bid you entrance into the Clockwork Forest, a place between worlds. Partake in a few drinks, meet some new people, and dance the night away.

The ball begins at 8pm however we have hired a medieval dance instructor for those who feel that they have two left feet (or for those who want to brush up on their traditional medieval dance steps!) The music will begin in a traditional medieval fashion and will flow into a more modern form as the night progresses.

All ticket holders are welcome to attend the free dance lesson at 6pm, all we ask is that you bring a food dish for the buffet table.

[ Theme ]

Every year we try to spice things up a bit by introducing themes into our traditional medieval masquerade ball. It is not necessary to
follow the theme in order to attend the ball. We recognize that most
prefer to keep it simple, however the theme exists to use as you wish. This year we’ve decided to explore the dichotomy between industry and nature. On one end of the spectrum we have Clockwork, neo-Victorian and Steampunk aesthetics involving anachronistic technology, steam-expelling inventions, petticoats and top hats. On the other end we have natural, druidic and animalistic themes, such as the personification of one’s inner beast, fearsome totem animals and organic outfits constructed of flora and fauna. As a visitor to the Clockwork Forest you may choose to use one, both or neither theme if it pleases you. Simple, traditional medieval garb is more than welcome.

We do ask that given our location in the heart of Toronto (and because this is first and foremost a medieval ball) any firearms, real or replica, be kept at home.

Day Mod: Hunting the Hunters

For months the Poica stalked Jericho’s humans like common prey. For months all attempts to locate the Poica have lead to dead ends. But now a way has been opened, and Jericho takes the war to the Poica.

The hunter becomes the hunted and the task is twofold:

  • Capture An’lek for Suvant
  • Rescue Lisara from imprisonment

Sharpen your blades Jericho, you’ve sworn that this day would come – and it has.

Underworld LARP presents our first full day module of 2013! These day mods have become a bit of a tradition over the years and they’re always awesome. We’ve used the same site for many years now and it’s excellent for day mods. Our day events at this site are usually combat heavy, as the location is perfect for it.

Weather can be a little unpredictable at this time of year so dress warm and dry, just in case!
You can always take layers off.
