The ball begins at 8pm however we have hired a medieval dance instructor for those who feel that they have two left feet (or for those who want to brush up on their traditional medieval dance steps!) The music will begin in a traditional medieval fashion and will flow into a more modern form as the night progresses.
All ticket holders are welcome to attend the free dance lesson at 6pm, all we ask is that you bring a food dish for the buffet table.
[ Theme ]
Every year we try to spice things up a bit by introducing themes into our traditional medieval masquerade ball. It is not necessary to
follow the theme in order to attend the ball. We recognize that most
prefer to keep it simple, however the theme exists to use as you wish. This year we’ve decided to explore the dichotomy between industry and nature. On one end of the spectrum we have Clockwork, neo-Victorian and Steampunk aesthetics involving anachronistic technology, steam-expelling inventions, petticoats and top hats. On the other end we have natural, druidic and animalistic themes, such as the personification of one’s inner beast, fearsome totem animals and organic outfits constructed of flora and fauna. As a visitor to the Clockwork Forest you may choose to use one, both or neither theme if it pleases you. Simple, traditional medieval garb is more than welcome.
We do ask that given our location in the heart of Toronto (and because this is first and foremost a medieval ball) any firearms, real or replica, be kept at home.
