As you are aware, the Empire wishes to consolidate its holdings in your region. As such, the first Barony of Jericho has been established. Your new nobility is a highly decorated naval officer of the 21st Berphaunt Fleet and a loyal man to the Emperor and the Empire. Admiral Zeddicus Lockwood, Baron of Jericho, will be departing from Berphauntian seas to his new home, aboard his personal vessel “Demons Durance” in the coming weeks. He has requested he be referred to simply as “Admiral” and you will abide by that. Once his ship draws close to shore the Conclave are confident they have the means to levitate his vessel to avoid significant travel times, avoid danger spots and to grant him a safe residence within the town of Jericho until permanent structures can be constructed. Please ensure proper arrangements are made to welcome him appropriately to his new position as head of your council and baron to the lands.

We regret to inform you that our magics failed in their task for unknown reasons. The Admiral’s ship has crashed or was brought down within the forests surrounding the territories previously occupied by your town’s inhabitants – ‘old Jericho’. As they know the lands, we will be sending High Druid Allanon to create a portal to the edge of the forest on April the 1st for your volunteers to rescue the Admiral and bring him home safely. High Druid Allanon will have the means to get your people inside the forest and he has been given the blessing of the Grey to do so. The importance of this task should be obvious for our Empire and Jericho. We have no information for what you will find beyond that wall of trees.

It has been over a year since the legendary Grey Elves slammed shut the wooden doors of their forest which cradles the ruins of old Jericho. No one has been able to say why, but theories abound – perhaps after the explosion caused by The Citadel, the Grey decided enough damage had been done to their home. Perhaps the mortal races are too troublesome and the Grey are justified in their eviction. Or maybe it is something far greater – the memory of witnessing the execution of a true Thalan, bound in chains last All Hallows, is difficult to erase from the minds of many.
Over the past year some have considered returning, perhaps expecting to find little more than a smoking crater, but those thoughts have always been abruptly hushed and discouraged. One does not defy the Elder race of elves and when the Thalan command “You shall not enter,” only fools would disobey, even with the lure of lost and forgotten treasures in the now abandoned camps of “Old Jericho”
Yet today, through the Conclave’s voice, you’ve been granted permission to do just that. For many, this nostalgic sense of excitement will quickly be replaced by the fearful logic of what might be found.. but the order from the Empire has been given.
On April 1st, a band of Jericho volunteers will gather together and venture beyond the treeline into the lands you once proudly called home. The Admiral must be located and rescued. It is a lot to ask to risk your lives for one you have yet to meet, even if he is to be your new leader, but for some there is more to this task than a simple escort. A peek behind the forest curtain – what is occurring with the Grey Elves? Who are the men and women with strange black markings on their faces, decrying “The Black Channel is coming” before murdering a Thalan last All Hallows’? What has happened in old Jericho since you have left it? By fate or circumstance, an opportunity for the answers is now within your grasp.
Welcome to Underworld Jericho’s first day mod of the 2017 season!
Boy it’s great to be back outside once again. LARPing indoors is fun, but it’s no replacement for fresh air, yelling,forests and hitting your friends with plumbing supplies. And do we ever have a great setting to open our 2017 season. This event will be held at Magik Morn, our beloved site for many years, before we bought our own land. Not only will we be using our old site out of game, it will also be our in game location as well! Who said you can’t go home again.
Some things of note:
– If it rains, the road may be muddy. Please drive carefully. And do not drive past the parking lot unless you have special permission.
– Logistics will be held in the parking lot, like we used to. We ask that PCs REMAIN IN THE PARKING LOT and do not go down to the site while our shaper team is setting up. You will be brought onto the site in game.
– This is a TAGLESS event. There is no cost of living.
– When you enter the drive to the site, stick to the left, past the house. If you have to open any gates, you MUST close them behind you.
– While we loved our old site, with every inch of our hearts, few will have missed the never ending piles of horse poop. Guess what? They’re still there. While poop is gross please recognize that horse poop is less gross. It’s literally almost entirely just hay. Don’t throw it at people.f
